Navarre Economic Outlook 2019

The economy of Navarre grew by 3.0% in 2018 and will advance by 2.0% in 2019 and 1.8% in 2020. Some 11,000 jobs will be created in the biennium, although the risks are numerous and some of them are more likely now. In 2020 the level of employment will be 0.5 percentage points below of the pre-crisis level

Navarre Economic Outlook 2018

The economy of Navarre grew 2.8% in 2017 and will keep that pace this year, moderating to 2.6% in 2019. The unemployment rate will reduce to 8.1% in 2019, although some risks are more likely to materialize than before. In 2019 employment in Navarre will be 2.3 p.p. under the 2008 level. Better and stronger job creation remains as a challenge.

Navarre Economic Outlook 2017

The economy of Navarre grew by 2.9% in 2016. It will grow by 3.0% in 2017 and by 2.8% in 2018. This will add some 8,000 new jobs between 3Q17 and the end of 2018; unemployment shall drop to 8.8% by then. Although pre-crisis GDP per capita will be recovered this year, creating more and better jobs remains a challenge.

Navarre Economic Outlook 2016

The economy of Navarre will grow 2.9% in 2016 and 2.4% in 2017, creating 10,000 new jobs from Jun-2016 and by the end of 2017. Internal demand drives the recovery, while exports of goods fail to show a firm trend , in a more uncertain context. Creating more and better employment remains as the main challenge.

Navarre Economic Outlook 2015

The recovery of the economy of Navarre has gathered pace and remains buoyant, in spite of certain elements of uncertainty. BBVA Research’s scenario forecasts GDP growth of 3.2% in 2015 and 2.8% in 2016, with the creation of some 13,000 jobs over the two years. The exchange rate and the oil price help regional competitiveness.
