Madrid Economic Outlook. 1st Half 2014

Summary

The Madrid region is consolidating the recovery that was starting to appear in the second half of 2013. The dynamic external environment will feed exports and tourism, while the progressive correction of internal imbalances – which are lower than in Spain as a whole – will reduce the negative contribution of domestic demand. However, there are still challenges ahead to ensure a level of growth in productivity and GDP per capita that narrows the gap between this region and the most advanced areas of Europe.
