Peru | Inflation goes up, shrinking even more any room for a policy rate cut
Summary
The consumer price index rose 0,56% in May, reflecting higher electricity, fuel, and food prices. As a result, YoY inflation went up to 3,4%. We expect it to remain at least around the CB’s target range ceiling in the coming months. Hence, the room the CB has to eventually cut the policy rate keeps tightening.
