Presentation "Latam Economic Outlook. Fourth quarter 2014"

Summary

The world economy is still growing, albeit slowly. Global growth will increase from 3.2% in 2014 to 3.7% in 2015. Commodity prices will fall in the short term because of increased supply, but should recover somewhat in the medium term. Increased tensions in international financial markets were also felt on LatAm exchanges. Volatility in LatAm markets is very likely here to stay. The rise in the Fed’s interest rates will not be offset by the greater monetary easing in Europe. LatAm will grow 0.9% in 2014 and 1.8% in 2015. The second quarter marked the lowest point of the slowdown. The Pacific Alliance will grow by 2.8% and 3.8% in 2014 and 2015, well above the regional average.
