Spain | Core inflation accounts for half of the improvement in headline inflation in May

Summary

The fall in headline inflation moderated again in May due to both the upward trend on core prices and the decrease on the base effect derived from lower prices of raw materials than those seen a year ago. Going forward, BBVA Research estimates negative headline inflation rates in the short run, which in the most likely scenario will return to positive ground in 2S15.
