Spain | Positive and Better-Than-Expected Growth in Employment in December
Summary
Social security registrations increased by 78,500 people (564,000 at the end of 2017), while unemployment fell by 50,600 people (210,500 a year ago). Taking seasonality out of the equation, the number of people in employment increased by 56,000 and the unemployment rate fell by 12,000, ending the quarter with an employment growth of 0.7% QoQ and a drop in unemployment of -1.7% QoQ.
