What is the financial inclusion index? How is it measured?

Summary

We noticed that there was no wide-angle indicator for looking at how each government is progressing in terms of financial inclusion. So in BBVA Reserach we have developed a multidimensional financial inclusion index to measure the three dimensions of this concept its use, its access and the barriers currently limiting people’s participation in the financial system.
