Spain | The labor market performed well in January, but worse than in Q4 2018

Summary

Social security registrations decreased by 204,900 (2.9% compared to the start of 2018), while unemployment rose by 83,500 people (-5.5% compared to one year ago). When not taking seasonality into account, employment increased by 44,000 people and unemployment fell by 8000; a rate of improvement in the labor market that was slightly lower than the rate recorded in Q4 2018.
